During E3, GameSpot caught up with Destiny’s community manager to chat about why the PC version is arriving in late October instead of early September. As you might expect, it comes down to a desire to take the time to release the highest quality product possible for the PC crowd.

Here is what Destiny community manager David “Deej” Dague had to say about the PC release date…

Obviously PC gamers don’t want to play the game until it is completed and bug-free, but waiting around for almost two months while console gamers level up and tackle the first raids is still frustrating. In a game that encourages racing to the highest level, waiting around while your console friends get maxed out isn’t very appealing.

It will be interesting to see if the delayed launch ends up hurting sales of the game on PC. Some gamers are likely fine with waiting it out, but there will likely be quite a few players who can’t wait and will go with the console version just because it arrives earlier (this second group includes a few GameRant writers and editors…).

What do you think about the staggered release? Which platform do you plan to use to play Destiny 2? Let us know in the comments!

Destiny 2 releases September 6, 2017 on PS4 and Xbox One, then on PC on October 24.
