MORE: Dale Earnhardt Jr., wife Amy expecting first child

NASCAR’s most popular driver may be retiring at the end of the season, but Ryder, played by Danny McBride, feels he’s the perfect man to take over Earnhardt Jr.’s seat.

“I’m the new you,” said Ryder to Earnhardt Jr. “I’m the guy that Mountain Dew has been looking for. I’m going to be driving race cars super fast in circles. Hobnobbing, endorsementing, riding wild Mountain Dew, all the time.”

Ryder, who is wearing shorts and wonders where he in the car he can put his luggage, also has a stunt double to help him on the track.

Earnhardt is hilarious throughout the ad, as things get a little too weird for his comfort.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. is actually being replaced by Alex Bowman in the No. 88 Chevrolet next season.
